David Cadle - The History Man


David has been working as a historical interpreter for schools, museums, education services, Historic Royal Palaces and private castles all over the country for many years.  He studied Medieval History at Birkbeck College, London, and is also a trained graphic designer.  His passion for history has taken him to some of Europe's finest heritage sites, from Iceland to Poland, recreating over 2000 years of history.  He has also worked as one of the cooks in the Great Kitchen at Hampton Court Palace for over 15 years, giving him specialist knowledge of food and cooking from the 1500's to the 1940's.  He has featured in many films and t.v. programmes, including 'Gladiator', 'Sharpe's Regiment', 'The 10th Kingdom', ‘Robin Hood’, and Blue Peter.

Glo studied history at 'A' Level, has a BA in Photography, has run photography and history workshops for children and adults, and has also worked in art therapy. She is a member of the Costume Society, and has recreated clothing from that of the Ancient Greeks to the nineteenth century, for museum services, The National Trust, and Historic Royal Palaces.  She also took part in The Mary Rose Trust's 25th Anniversary Lectures, speaking about the Tudor Apothecary and medicine, and has an extensive collection of authentic ingredients and preparations.  Her sessions ‘A Brief History of Medicine’ and ‘A Brief History of Fashion’ are suitable for high schools, W.I., U3A and other groups.
